Hello newcomers to ChangedStory and private servers alike. Here are some common errors that can help you be able to play the server.
Before we continue with this guide, be sure you:
-Have MapleStory v62 installed on your computer, and make sure that you havent patched it.
-Make sure you have MSSetup62 somewhere on your computer.
Download the client from the website. If you do not know how to use WinRar, or if you don't know what a .rar file is, download this
.exe version of the client. Save it to C:\user\Nexon\MapleStory.
Errors
WzMss.dll file not found, download
this, I am pretty sure this will cure this particular problem. Save it inside the MapleStory folder as well.
Error code : -2147287038 ( Unknown error code 0x80030002.) Sadly, you have to reinstall MSSetup62. Luckily, you didn't delete the wizard, right? So no 2 hour download for you, Silly Goose.
Invalid Pointer. This is a minor, minor issue. Just restart the client.
The "Firewall" message. The server is offline. If you have never played MapleStory, allow Maplestory through. However, DO NOT turn it off. Check the forums to see when the server will be up.
If you are having
connection problems, such as the screen turning black for a
few seconds before you are booted back to your desktop, try rebooting your computer. If that does not work, redownload the client.
If your screen goes black for
around 20 seconds, then you are booted to desktop saying you have been disconnected, exit out of all other programs and make sure your computer isn't scanning before rebooting the client. To make sure you quit all clients you might have forgotten about, try relogging into your computer.
**If you can not "create a new character", simply press the back button until you need to sign in again, then go back and try to create one. If this does not work, click "View all characters" to connect to the server and create a character. If that doesnt work, reboot the client. If none of the above doesn't work, redownload the client. And if THAT doesn't work, you're out of luck. Thanks for trying, though. ;D (It normally doesn't get that far.)**
